New Years and First Time at the Park

Wow...as I have been sitting here uploading my pictures my son just army crawled (pulled himself forward on his belly using his arms and sometimes his legs) from me to his books (about 5' away), back to me, and then back to the books. I cannot believe this boy. He just started working on this before New Years and he is already making progress. Wow

Anyway :) New Years was a wonderful time. We went to our good friends Melissa and Steve's house to spend time with them and have our little ones play. We had a wonderful New Years with them and uncle Steve even gave Jake some crawling lessons...so I am blaming you Steve for this new army crawl. ;) Jake and Kadence seemed to have a good time playing around each other and did not really upset each other...so I call it a success. hehe New Years Day our friends, Becky, Troy and Jim came up for a surprise birthday party for Becky which was so much fun. We then had a house full of kids and adults just having a good time. So much fun. I love these times when you can get together with old friends. So fun and relaxing and awesome to see our kids grow up together.

Another thing that we were able to do the first day we got there was take Jake to a park for the first time. The boy was 9 1/2 months old and had never been on a big swing or on a slide and seeing that they have a bunch of awesome parks around there house we went on a little adventure.

Here are some pictures showing our great times:
Jake and Kadence getting ready to go to the park. And yes Kadence is 6 months older even though they look to be the same size) :) "Okay momma, I am in this strange thing and getting all buttoned up...now what?"
"Wo this is fun...again...again."
"Dad I know you are holding onto the back of my overalls...but I am not sure about this."
"Oh...that was really fun...I think I like the slide!"
This was really funny as both Kadence and Emma (Becky and Troys little girl...really bummed we did not get a picture of the three of them together) loved to sit on Jake like a little horsey. Jake was exploring the floor on his tummy a lot so I guess he looked like a little pony to them. But here you can see that Kadence was really happy and proud of herself just barely sitting on Jake.
Here Jake has fully thrown his rider and looks quite pleased about it...the rider...not so much.
Ahhhh...a little sleepy cuddle time between Jake and Becky
This I just though was cute. We did not bring our dog Piper on our trip and I think Piper and Jake really missed each other as Jake went right to her when we got back and Piper gave him a nice puppy kiss. :)
Hope you all had a wonderful New Years as well and we all have a great 2010!!!

And here we are for the second installment of Jakey's first Christmas. We had a wonderful time with Ryan's parents, sister, and grandma celebrating Christmas at our house and then we got to take a trip to my parents house to have another Christmas with my parents, grandma and Aunt Kathy. We had a really great time with them too and Jake loved his opportunity to share all his new tricks and show off his two bottom teeth (the second one cut on the 23rd) to more of his fans. Here are some pictures from our wonderful trip:
Jakey opening up a Christmas Bear
I really think that one of Jake's favorite gifts was this wrapping paper. It was shiny and made a fun noise when you moved it around and he just loved it.
A Very excited little bear (if you have not noticed already Jake's nickname has become "bear"...kinda morphed from buddy bear, to Jakey Bear to Bear)
"Ooohhhh is this for me?"
Grandma and Grandpa got Jake a big dump truck which he loves.
...and he can ride on it and hit buttons which make all kinda of noise (luckily there is a volume and on/off switch)
Jake and his GG loved cuddling...so much that they both fell asleep on this occasion.
Jake giving his Great Aunt Kathy some love.
Christmas Family Picture...I loved spending this holiday time together without school, work, or other craziness getting in the way.
If Jake could have sugar right now I would call this picture "Sugar High"

And for your viewing pleasure, a small demonstration of Jake opening a present and absolutely loving the wrapping. It really was the best part of watching him during his First Christmas.
Stay tuned for New Years Pics...

Jakey's First Christmas Part 1

Well sorry for the long absence everyone but we were all so busy enjoying Christmas and all of our visits that I was not able to download pictures until now. And we took so many that I am going to have to put them into 3 blogs. So enjoy this as the first installment...Christmas morning. :) We enjoyed sharing Christmas this year with Ryan's family at our house which was a ton of fun and all new to our little boy. He was not sure what all was going on but he seemed to have a good time. Any time with that much paper, bows and boxes is a dream come true to this little boy! So here are some pictures to start you off:
"Wake up Grandma and Grandpa...its my first Christmas!!!"
"Aunt B, Aunt B...lets go already!!!"
Jake really enjoyed his stocking and checking out the new little toys, books and goodies (puffs of course) that were hidden inside. And no he is not eating a large puff...but chewing on his new little airplane..hehe.
"My first Christmas toy...I am so excited!!!"
First Christmas Toy picture with mommy (where you can actually see what it is).
Oh wow, a new Dodger hat...since Jake outgrew his first one at about 4 months old.
Hmmmm...this toy looks very interesting.
Now what does this button do if I push it?
Yey, a truck!!! Jake loves trucks.
Some cuddle time surfing the net with his Aunt B.
Stay tuned for the next installment which will include Christmas fun at the Loretz's.

9 month old Jake

Hey look at me...for once I am a day early in the big turn of the month blog. :) Tomorrow Jake is going to be 9 months old...I just cannot believe it. I have the most wonderful, loving, silly cuddly, smart, affectionate, goofy,etc,etc,etc...son. I love this little boy so much and cannot believe how blessed we are that God chose us to raise such a wonderful child of his. At this almost 9 month mark Jake can now clap (although not on command), rock back and forth on his hands and knees and pretty much get where he wants to go by rolling, turning on his belly and going backwards. And he is already starting to get into things...we are now in trouble. :) But here are some new pictures of our little Jakey Bear.
Wearing Daddy's hat as we got out the Christmas stuff.
Ahhh, the adorable men in my life...I love them both so much.
My silly boy has a little play area and he somehow got himself almost completely underneath the coffee table...he does not seem too worried though. :)
I had to get some sort of before and after shot of this. This is Jake's little play area that we set up for him. All nice and together and there for him to tear apart...
And here is is a picture after hurricane Jake. :) hehe, he really does have a fun time..and that is what it is there for.
Jake's first Christmas tree...he really does not understand the whole tree in the house thing. But here he is with Daddy checking out the decorated tree for the first time.
Happy Boys
"wow...where can I put this one?"
Jake found his books all on his own on this particular night...and had no problem getting them out to find one he wanted. A new "Bob the Builder" book.

And for your viewing pleasure here is a little video of Jake "rocking." Its not a great one but sometimes its hard to catch him doing things and get a good video. Of course since I took this he does it a lot more. :)
I hope everyone is having a great week and looking forward to Christmas next week!!! :D

Jake's 1st Christmas Portraits

Well I have some really cute pictures of Jake to share from the past week but I just had to share these first...I will put the other ones on in a couple of days. But these are Jake's Christmas pictures that we took before Thanksgiving and I have to say that they turned out adorable. He was in such a smiley mood and so we were quite thrilled. Hope you enjoy them. :)

Great picture and if you look under his tongue you can see his first and so far only tooth.
ooooohhhhh...this picture makes us laugh every time we see it. I think Ryan showed him a bear to get him to smile and it turned out he was very excited to see it. hehe
Happy Santa Baby
Ahhhhhh...cute little man

Jake's First Thanksgiving

Well last week was Jake's first Thanksgiving and he seemed to be very amused by it all, we tried some real grown up foods on him to interesting results and introduced him to crazy black Friday shopping. He really seemed to like that, but I think it had more to do with spending lots of time in a shopping cart...he loves to do that and spends his time looking all around like a big boy. :) Below are some of the pictures of his first Thanksgiving meal and of course just more cuteness. :)

OK Dad, what is that?
"Hmmmm...mashed potatoes. Kinda boring...I think I will like them more with some butter and lots of gravy when I am older."
"Sweet potatoes....
"....I thought people said these would have brown sugar and all sorts of goodies in them...I got the plain ones."
".....ahhhhhh full Thanksgiving tummy...all full of baby food Apple Turkey Cranberry, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and of course the best desert ever...banana puffs!!!"
"Welcome to the gun show"
"Hey everybody...I hope you have a good week!"
