Giggle Boy

Our boy absolutely loves his high chair, we learned early that if we tried to take him out of it as soon as he was done eating he would try and pull the tray back. So now we let him play there for a little bit with a toy that sticks onto the tray. On this particular day he was having a really good time while playing and I was finally able to catch a few of his giggles. He is such a cute giggler and often will get into giggle fits and all you have to do is look at him and he will giggle again...until the camera comes out.

As for this last week, we had a good week. We are learning how to feed Jake solids three times a day and still get him the milk he needs and he seems to be pretty happy. He started to get used to applesauce and has now tried prunes (too many apples...hehehe) and seems to really like those. So we are doing well. And we also learned this week that to get the little guy to settle down in his crib for an afternoon nap (we have been having problems since he started sleeping long nights) all we have to do is put on some music. The last two days he has been sung to sleep by the Lion King soundtrack. I love Disney. :) But here are some pictures from this week:

Jake and Daddy having some boy time in the morning.
My little man with his Lamy..I bought him this while he was still in my tummy and had it in his stocking last Christmas. While I was pregnant I could hardly wait to meet him and let him play with it. :) Fun to see.
Recently I added this overhead portion of his exercauser and he absolutely loves it. He is getting so good at grabbing toys now...and anything else he can get his hands on. He desperately wants our phones and remote controls now.

And I got a picture of it!!! About a month ago Jake started to figure out how to get his pacy in his mouth. We would look at him and suddenly it was in his mouth. He has just started to get much better at it...although it is not always put in straight. :)

And the bear book. Jake's GG and Great Aunt Kathy gave him this book when he was about 3 months old and he absolutely loves it. It it the hardest book to read to him though because he always wants to play with it himself. :)

This picture is in honor of Jake's Great Grandma Mary...she is a great Raider's fan.

Have a great week everyone!!!

Jake at 6 Months

Hello world, its me again....Jake!!! Since I am 6 months old Mommy let me do the blog again...and I am so much more grown up than last time. Mommy and Daddy took me to the doctor yesterday for my 6 month appointment and they said that I am now 30" long and 22lbs 13 oz...I am still growing an inch a month. I'm a big boy now! :) Here are some pictures of me that were taken in the last couple of weeks.

Here I am all ready to go to bed (look up). Mommy and Daddy originally got this for me to wear on my one year birthday...guess they will have to get me something else. hehe...but it does get me a lot of kisses. And if you look down you can see me in my camo...or can you??? I am stealth baby.
Here I am trying to figure out how to shoot a basketball...I had managed to pick it up on my own but now I don't know what to do with it.
And here I am with my good friend Stevie, our moms had just taken us to Costco with them and it kinda wore us out.
Ahhhh.my favorite toy...I love chewing on my toys and these days I spend a lot of time doing it.
This is a picture of me and my daddy on my first football Sunday...he was trying to explain the game to me but I was having too much fun playing.
And here is me...aren't I cute?!? But while Mommy was taking this I suddenly wondered what that black thing was that was flashing at me.......
here I am trying to investigate.
And my play mat...the kids at the church nursery and day care try and tell me that these are not cool anymore once you can sit up...but I still love mine. And mommy lets me sit next to it sometimes so I can look at the toys from another angle which is a lot of fun.
Hehe...the other day Mommy was playing with me and we were rolling over, but this time I grabbed my blanket as I turned over. Next thing I know...I am a burrito.
But I am loving being a big 6 month old. I now get to eat fruit and white meat. Not sure what all that means but they tell me I will like it. Although I did try applesauce for the first time today and to be honest, I like my squish (squash) better. Maybe I am just a veggie and cereal boy. But I am excited to keep trying things. Well I should go now because sitting still this long is making me wiggly and my toys are getting bored. Bye bye.
This blog has been translated by my mommy who knows what all my aaaaggaaaas and bbbggggoooooooos mean.

New Jake Portraits

Sorry, it has taken me so long to post this, but we were having some Internet problems. But last week we took Jake to get new portraits to show off his new sitting talent. After the last two times I was not sure what we would get or what his mood would be, but he did so well and only started to melt down towards the end. Ryan's parents were still with us that day and so they got to come and watch and even take part in some pictures which was a lot of fun. But here are some of my favorites..

Jake with Grandma and Grandpa...showing off his love for hair. :)

I was so thrilled to get these wonderful pictures!!! So we had a really nice long weekend at home after this and Ryan's parents even watched Jake one night so that we could go on a date for the first time since Jake was born. We went to dinner and a movie and it was really nice to have some us time. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa. :) Then we had our first week with me back at work and Jake at day care. I had a really hard time leaving him again, but he had a great time and got a wonderful report. We have a very social child. Next week is his 6 month appointment so I will update you on his new growth. :) Have a great week!!!

First week of work

Well this was my first week back at work and yeah, it was a tough week. I had my emotional breakdown on Sunday night at the thought of leaving behind my baby boy and going to work. But I did a little better on my trips into work in the morning. Although holding him sleeping in my arms after feeding him made putting him back in his crib and leaving pretty difficult. (I was half tempted my second day to try sneaking him into work in my backpack hehe). But as the last hour of work counted down I became quite giddy because I knew that I got to see him really soon. But thanks to our wonderful parents who came to watch him my first week back, he did really well. And it helped me too. But he did very well with them and took his bottles, played happily, ate his veggies and well....tried to go down for naps...sometimes. :) hehe But I am very proud of him! And having Wednesday off to be able to play, cuddle and love him all day was just awesome. So I will enjoy that. And pumping at work was not as bad as I thought it would be. So I guess all in all it went pretty well. Do I want to be at work?...no way. But we are doing a little better now and I will really enjoy working only half time.

But luckily we still took a bunch of pictures this week and so you still get your Jakey pics. :) Enjoy!

Here is Jake showing off his sitting skills. He had his first spill last week where he just went down too fast for me and while I did catch him when he was about half way down he still hit his head on the coffee table. Both of us were not too happy for a couple of minutes, but after that he acted like nothing ever happened. My tough little guy.
Jake has also suddenly realized that he is quite flexible as he loves to put his foot in his mouth.
Jake trying on a winter hat that we got him in Yosemite when I was pregnant with him.
Jake with one of Ryan's friends Brian. (all of Ryan's other co-workers were jealous, especially Breezy)
Put me in coach, I'm ready to play
"I love my fist"
Playing with a stuffed football, what is funny is that it is about as big as he is.
Cuddling with Grandma on her birthday
Jake is really working on taking his pacie out and then putting it back in his mouth. He is really good, as he always has been, at taking it out. Putting it back in the correct way is still something he is working on.
Jake now loves his baths as he splashes around and can now sit up in his little plastic tub.
On Thursday I came home from work and this is what I found. Jake and Grandpa had decided to take a nap together. hehe, isn't it adorable.
Jake and his Grandma also love their reading time. :)
Jake and his Daddy just hanging out.
