California Road Trip - Week 2 Beach and More SLO Fun

We continued to have a fantastic time in SLO!  Just looking back at these pictures makes me smile and remember how wonderful it was and nice to be back in Grandma and Pa Brown's house. :)  It was this half of the trip that we all went to the beach and the boys LOVED it!  AJ could hardly wait to build sand castles and spent most of his time doing that.  Jake fell in love with the ocean and loved to Boogie Board.  So amazing to watch my cautious child take to the waves and no matter how much they tossed him around he went right back out.  It was awesome to see!!!  Definitely going to have to check out some beaches closer to us.  :)  Really great times and wonderful memories made!
AJ just getting going on his sand castle.  Took him a while to figure out that he needed wet sand to make it all stick.  :)
Daddy and Pa took Jake out for his first time Boogie Boarding!
It was love at first wave!
Meanwhile AJ took working on his castles with crazy enthusiasm! :)
His first tower
Gotta get some wet sand
"Wait...there is water here...what is big brother doing?!?!"
"I'm in, let me try!!!"  This boy is fearless...I really think he would try anything!
AJ's first wave
I think he likes it!  He rode in a few waves and then was done.  It was fun for him but the waves were a little past his comfort zone.
Which meant Jake was back out there!  Can't tell you how many times we saw him head back out.
Happy Surfer boy!
It also helped that Daddy blocked the waves for him as he went out every time.  Sweet Daddy :)
Taking a small break from the water so they can both play in the sand together
...yep, not for long though :)
Very happy boy!
Jake loved sharing his super hero books with his very patient Cousin Kristy!
Kids start so early these days. ;)
AJ getting some energy out with Pa outside
Jake enjoyed playing this old game that used to be his Daddy's
Then they were both out there...they really loved playing this!
Great time just hanging out in the yard with Grandma and Pa
Grandma teaching AJ to shoot a Wii bow and arrow
Jake's turn...training to be the next Green Arrow :)
Reading fun!  Jake was so excited to share his new reading skills he learned from kindergarten.
Of course AJ had to join in and teach Grandma about Transformers :)
The boys playing with their Grandparents awesome Chuggington toy!
Mini Golf!!!
Grandma and Pa seem to like their obstacles...
...they are pretty cute :)
Gotta get those last Snuggles :)  We had such a wonderful time in SLO, went way too fast of course but we loved every minute of it.  Now we were off to see my Grandma, go to my parents house in Discovery Bay and then down south to see my aunts and take the boys to a big surprise!
