Enjoying the Rest of Summer

When we got home from California we had just a few weeks of summer left before Jake had to go back to school so we were going to cram in as many activities and friends as we could!  :)  We had a lot of fun and after traveling for so long it was honestly really nice to be home.
One thing that we needed to do was finish up the boys swim lessons.  Luckily their teacher was willing to do lots of back to back lessons and so we got them done in a couple of weeks.  And wow did the boys do great!  Jake had been swimming all summer and really enjoyed all of the pools that each of our hotels offered.  So it was no surprise that the first lesson back Jake was able to swim from one end of the pool to the other which meant he passed the swim test!!!  A huge accomplishment which meant that he did not need a vest any time he swam at the y's pool! Plus....
...he now got to go on the awesome water slide they have there.  This thing is at the top of a tall staircase and goes outside and then into the building!  Jake LOVES it!!!  Very proud of him!
Check out this rock star!!!
Now back in the pool.  Look at AJ go!
Jake easily cruising to the end of the pool
Crazy AJ
Crazy Jake...yeah, nobody can tell they are brothers
We also got back in time to enjoy some of At the Movies month at our wonderful church.  This year the theme was Avengers and so the boys were in heaven!  Here is our own little Hulk...kinda fits huh?  ;)
Look out for this one!
Strong AJ can even lift Thor's hammer
So can big brother!!

The boys enjoyed their time in Tony Stark's workshop

Look at these boys swim!  Amazing how far they came in one private lesson!
Their teacher cheering AJ on...just a little further, you can do it!!!
Yes success!!!  To both his teacher's and my surprise AJ was able, by sheer determination, to swim from one side of the pool to the other.  The lesson before this his teacher was working with Jake and thought AJ was patiently holding onto the side waiting for his turn...until he realized he had been treading water and not holding on the whole time.  This lesson AJ would not let him hold onto him or help one bit...so his smart teacher just let him go.  With his head barely above water and no style at all he was able to will himself from one end of the pool to the other.  An amazing feat by a not quite 4 year old!!!
A good look at AJ's determination.  You might notice that this is his second time swimming from one end of the pool to the other...back to back.  We were amazed!
Little AJ passed the swim test!  :D  We were so proud!  While the y does not normally let a 3 year old pass the swim test he passed every requirement and it came down to the fact that his teacher did not want him in a vest any more as he was learning so fast.  AJ was soooo proud of himself!!!!  Our little fish!

Of course we had to have a fun trip to the Zoo with a friend!
It was hot but we had a great time!
The boys checking out the sea lions...always a favorite for my boys!!!
Gotta fit in some splash pad fun!
Then we also had to make a trip to the store to get AJ some shoes for school, he had lots to chose from but was thrilled with his Minion shoes!
