Boy Scout Fun and Swimming Lessons in Late Winter

Oh the fun our family has!  Seems as though our weekdays and weekends are often filled with plans and we are busy, but we really have created a wonderful life!!!  The boys have their activities, school, times with friends and we have some fun adventures and precious family time!  Loving Life!  :)
As a Cub Scout Jake got to be a part of the box car derby.  He and his dad worked really hard on his car and in the end Jake (and all of us) were very proud of it.  The boys love the cartoon Miles from Tomorrowland and so Jake chose to make a blastboard for his car.  I think it turned out amazing!
Jake loves it!!!
Best Friends
But their friendship was tested when they raced against each other (4 and 6) :P
All set up...Jake's car is the second from left in this picture.  The first race!
Wow!!!!  Jake got 1st in this race!  :D
All of the racers in their age group
Jake was super proud of his two awards!!!  Voted by his fellow Cub Scouts and the judges.
After the event Jake placed 9th...not bad at all!!! :)
Not everyone has their kids start their swim lessons in January...but we find it beats the rush and then they are ready for summer.  Helps that they absolutely love them!!!
Both look forward to them all week.
After a good lesson their teacher takes them for a trip down the water slide.  This was AJ's first time
Here comes Jake
Here comes AJ
AJ loved it!!! (Although it did catch up to him and he realized it was scary...has not been down in since....hehe...maybe in another year)
But their favorite part was always watching their teacher come down with a big splash.  They had the best teacher who is now working to become a Marine...we will really miss him as he got both these boys swimming!
Super Bowl Sunday is always a big deal at our church. :D  The boys LOVE IT!!!
A fun day after school playing at the neighborhood playground
AJ was super excited to finally take part in a Valentines Day exchange at school.  He loved every moment of it and coming home with a bag of Valentines from his friends. :D
We were super proud of Jake as he won the Reading Contest in Jan.  Their teacher took part in the OKC Thunder's reading challenge during school and the student who read the most in the class for the month (as we have to track their time for hw) wins the challenge for the month.  Jake read for 750 min in Jan and won a really nice Thunder Journal.  He was so proud!!!
Jake had his Valentines Day party the day after AJ and I was able to help out.  Love being in his class and seeing him with his friends.
He had so much fun handing out his Valentines to all of his friends.
A fun day off school hanging out with their buddy!  :)  This day included Duncan Donuts, the used bookstore and then lunch at the park.  Not bad at all.  The silly boys even brought their new books with them and were reading on the playground.  :)
I love these times.  Ryan and I try and give the boys special one on one time with the boys.  This was during a Mommy/Jake date night.  :)  We had a lot of fun and explored the mall looking for new Sneakers...the winner, some Star Wars shoes.  :)
We also had the big end of year dinner with Cub Scouts.  It was a western theme and Ryan got really into it :)
Our pack's fun festive table
Some cute cowboys
That is one scary dude!
The leaders of our pack! :D  Two great guys!
