Trip to Texas - Legoland

Well I seem to have fallen behind again, lol.  I seem to be pretty consistent in doing that but at least during that time I am still taking pictures of us having fun.  But for now lets go back to our August Texas vacation.  It was a great trip, but what the boys were most looking forward to was a trip to the LEGOLAND Discovery center.  They could hardly wait until Sunday arrived and we made the exciting trip.
The LEGOLAND Discovery center is actually in this huge mall and as it was pouring rain outside we decided to stay dry and walk through the mall to get there.  The boys were excited but as I looked back at them I was struck with cuteness as they were both holding hands.  :)
Waiting in line for it to open
Jake is a little bit excited...why is this blurry?  Because he is jumping up and down of course :)
About to walk in
First we got a little "tour" of a Lego Factory designed for the kids
Both our boys made sure they were front and center to watch
Then we went on a ride to shoot the bad guys and save a princess :)
 Jake is ready
Picture of us on the ride...but what you need to check out is the scores...Jake beat us all soundly!!!
Very cool Lego cement truck
They had a great 4D studio and since we got there when it first opened we were able to stay and watch a second show.  It was pretty awesome.
Boys being introduced to 3D glasses...AJ is a little confused at how to wear them :)
Cool dudes.  Both boys wore their glasses at first, but then something came out at us and AJ would not put them on again.  :)  But he still enjoyed the movies, except for when the dragon sneezes on us and we all got wet.  :)  Jake thought that was pretty yucky :)
The Star Wars display was awesome
Close up of some of the Star Wars Legos
AJ liked every part where he could move something.  Here he is working a pod race with some other kids.
 Trying to work the plane
 as seen here :)
Jake loved driving the little cars, sadly AJ was too little and young.  Maybe next time.  But yes Jake was this serious the whole time.  :D
Checking out one of the Lego Chima characters that the boys saw in on of the movies.
 An amazing city display
Jake LOVED the Lego stadium where he had been a couple days before to see the Rangers play.
AJ liked the football stadium :)
I (Sandy) thought the blimp was great!
 Jake posing with his stadium
It really was cool to see all of these awesome things made out of Legos
There was also this huge play structure in the middle that had these huge foam Legos.  The boys LOVED them
I think they would have stayed there all day if we had let them
AJ building his tower
Jake was very seriously building...until a moment later when he happily threw it.  :)
The boys were building their own Lego racers.  As you can see they were very serious about it.
AJ checking it out to be sure it was fit to be his race car
Yep, he is pleased with it :D
Now to check it out.  AJ love this part!!!
Jake was the next one to finish
And the check ride.  :)
There was also an area where the kids could race their cars with other people.
Neither of them were shy and happily jumped in with other people to race
One race they got to do together
AJ was hilarious in these races. As he would yell, laugh, jump up and down...he was very excited about the whole thing.  :)
Then daddy finally finished his car!
It was pretty cool!
Then we lined up for the last ride.  The kids were very tired by this point but could not wait to get on.
AJ and mommy are ready
We had a really fun ride together
Then daddy and Jake were next
Happy guys :D
Jake found a pretty cool giraffe, ironically it ate Legos.  :)
We were in Texas after all
The boys were super excited to see one of their heroes :)
It did not take long for AJ to fall asleep once we were in the car.  Actually fell asleep in the middle of eating his late lunch..  :)
We did let each of the boys pick out a small Lego set and putting them together was the first thing that they had to do when we got home.
AJ and his Iron Man set
Jake playing with his Ninja Turtle set
These Legos have entertained the boys for hours since they got them.  The are mostly at the play with them built stage (with the little Legos that is, Duplos they are master builders :)
